Eagles News · Lady Eagles Hold Onto Victory As Calvary Chapel Almost Erases 4-Run Deficit

Southlands Christian Lady Eagles Softball built a four-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Calvary Chapel’s charge for a 5-4 victory on Tuesday’s league opener on the road. The Eagles got on the board in the second inning with an RBI single by Junior, Raquel Cordova. Calvary Chapel evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning. Southlands Christian pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. Senior, Tori Marvel doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, and Bella Lopez, Freshman,  singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Bella Lopez was credited with the victory for the Eagles. The right-hander surrendered one earned run on seven hits over seven innings, striking out ten and walking zero. The Lady Eagles look to keep things rolling when they take on league opponent, Orangewood Academy away on Thursday.
