Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Is Heating Up


The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team defeated Capistrano Valley Christian School (CVCS) 7-5. CVCS are the defending league champs and were 2-1 going into their second league contest. With the Eagles defeating CVCS and Saddleback Valley Christian, they are now sitting in first place with a one-game lead over both teams and an overall 7-3 record.

CVCS had a fast start as their lead-off batter hit a home run. However, the Eagles responded by scoring 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning with a score of 5-1 at the end of the first. The Eagles never trailed after the first inning. Matthew Quezada pitched 5 strong innings and earned the win. Michael Hubert was the relief pitcher as he relieved Quezada the last two innings to get the save. Southlands Christian had timely hits and plays as they defeated CVCS 7-5.
