Girls Varsity Basketball · Showdown At Southlands

The Southlands Christian (SC) Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team defeated first place Eastside Christian (EC) in a league competition yesterday. The Eagles came out strong in the first quarter as Macie Oliva lead the attack in the first half. However, Eastside Christian rallied back as they poured on the points in the second quarter as they made a lot of jump shots and 3 pointers. Seniors Reana Schnabel, Riley Ruan, and Macie Oliva locked down the paint on offense and defense. Sophomores Lola Rasshan and Nicole Rodriguez did great on the boards as they came in off the bench. Lower classmen, Madelyn Seidner and Abigail Salais did a great job bringing the ball up and setting up the offense. Senior guards Lael Singley and Paris Church brought a lot of energy on the perimeter for the Eagles.

Southlands Christian and Eastside Christian are now tied for first place in league with their one loss coming from each other. However, SC and EC play each other for the league title at our Senior Night on Monday, February 5th at 5:30 pm. The gym is going to be packed with family, students, staff, and potential future Southlands students who will be visiting the school that night. The Eagles are looking to win the Express Silver League title again and make another deep playoff win.
