The Southlands Christian (SC) Frosh & JV Boys’ Basketball Teams have improved as the season has gone on. The frosh team is 1-1 in league as they have defeated Samueli and loss to Fairmont Prep Academy (FPA) Huskies. They look to improve their record and defeat the Huskies on Thursday, February 1st.

The JV team is 1-2 against league opponents and are looking to defeat Fairmont Prep Academy tomorrow after a narrow loss to the Huskies last week. The Eagles play there last three games against Fairmont (2/1), Saddleback (2/6), and Samueli (2/7) as they look to finish the season strong.

The Boys Varsity Basketball Team is currently in 2nd place and looking to secure a high seed in playoffs. Defeating FPA would give the Huskies their first loss in the Express League. The Eagles lost a tough game to the Huskies as they were defeated 61-27. The Eagles defense looked pretty good but they could not score against the stout Huskies defense. The Eagles look to pull an upset against the 3rd ranked team 5AAA (CIF Poll) and 15th in the state (Max Preps). The Eagles are ranked 12th in 5AA (CIF Poll) and 70th in the State (Max Preps). However, the Eagles aren’t focused on FPA as much as they are on improving and competing to their best ability.

On Tuesday, January 30th, the Eagles defeated the Anaheim Discovery Christian Magi by a score of 69-19. Southlands Christian is now 13-5 this season as they are playing their best basketball in school history so far. The Eagles best record in school history was 15-7 in the 2013-14 season under Coach Will Robbins. The Eagles went on to win their first playoff game and move onto the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time. SC looks to make another CIF Playoff appearance this season and possibly a deep playoff run. This would be their 3rd appearance in 3 years and 5th appearance in 7 years in the playoffs, with one 2nd round appearance.

Come support the Eagles as they finish the last 4 games of this season this week and next week!
